The Bāte – Vaiņode congregation, during the madness of blasphemy and church demolitions that ravaged all of Latvia, began to build a new Lutheran church led by the congregation’s pastor Jānis Geide and long-time chairman Jānis Puļķis. In 1956, the Vaiņode congregation celebrated a victory – the newly built church was consecrated. In 1994, a bell tower was constructed.
