The Aizvīķi Baptist Church is located in a quiet area, sheltered by a dense stand of spruce trees. The church was built in 1936 when the Aizvīķi congregation purchased a plot of land from the Strēle family of Aizvīķi. The Baptist congregation in Gramzda was founded in 1888. The current church is the third home of the congregation. The remarkable altar painting, “Christ Calms the Storm on the Sea”, was created by artist O. Cintiņš, whose name was not publicized in connection with the altar piece during the Soviet era, as it was considered unsafe.
