The square in Gramzda "Gates to Latvia"
Gramzda, Dienvidkurzemes novads
Opposite the Gramzda Lutheran Church stand three illuminated red-and-white boats, approximately six meters tall. They symbolize generations and their journey through centuries toward an independent Latvia. The square was unveiled in 2017 as part of the national unity and belonging campaign "Embrace Latvia!"
As part of the event, two oak trees dedicated to Latvia's centenary were planted, and symbolic gates crafted by wood sculptor Ģirts Burvis were unveiled.
