The Rīva River Trail stretches 3 km along the Rīva River. The area offers scenic views, as the river flows through deep ravines lined with old spruce and pine forests. While bird diversity is not especially high, during the nesting season it is possible to observe and hear all the common Latvian forest birds. The fast-flowing sections of the river do not freeze in winter, attracting kingfishers, dippers, and mallards. With some luck, one might also spot a white-throated dipper, usually seen on the far side of the second bridge—near the Rīva Mill.
