Auto track "Līgo" in Priekule regularly hosts motorsport events – autocross, folkrace, autosprint, as well as driving skill competitions – to promote the development of motorsport in Priekule and its surrounding area. These events are mainly organized at the Priekule auto track “Līgo” (Priekule, Dārza Street 24). The track is 930 meters long with a minimum width of 10 meters, and it includes a 120-meter Joker Lap section. There are seven marshal posts located around the track.
The association’s main focus is on autocross; therefore, several autocross competitions are organized each year. In cooperation with the Latvian Automobile Federation, on May 18, 2019, the association organized national-level competitions at the “Līgo” track, including the LAF Folkrace Summer Cup and the LAF Autocross Commission Cup.
For several years, autosprint competitions have been successfully held during the winter season, helping participants improve their driving skills by completing a distance on snow- and ice-covered surfaces.
The association not only organizes its own events but also participates in municipal events. For example, during the 2018 “Icarus Festival,” a driving skill competition was organized, and the association also takes part in the festival parade, where both members and participants’ cars can be seen.
Anyone interested has the opportunity to attend events organized by the association and, when possible, to try the track outside competition times by arranging it with the association’s board members. However, weather conditions play a significant role.
