The building was constructed in the mid-19th century and has remained almost unchanged to this day. Throughout its existence, the building has been used as a grain warehouse and the Aizpute parish council. During the Soviet era, the building housed the consumer society's garages and an agricultural product purchasing point. The building has been recognized as a local architectural monument. Currently, the Pilskrogs building hosts spaces for creative activities, accommodation, Soviet-era car exhibitions, and tours +371 28633808, as well as offering guided tours of the building and the city.
