Private Exhibition "Kurzeme Fisherman's Homestead"
For centuries, fishermen's homes were strung along the Baltic Sea like beads. Courageous and skillful people lived there, who went far out to sea in boats to bring ashore rich catches of herring, cod, flounder and eel. The steps of the era have radically changed this scene, the tribe of Kurzeme fishermen has disappeared. Only memories are still alive. . .
In order to preserve evidence of the work and life of Kurzeme fishermen, an exhibition "Kurzeme Fisherman's Homestead" has been created in Saraiki, Vērgale parish. Here you can see both fishing gear and household items, and also, by ordering in advance, taste something from the fishing men's table.
