A walk along Ziemupe

Nature and cultural history exploration hike, the starting point of which is TIP "Jūras māja" where you can get to know the history of Ziemupe, see a swordfish, listen to one of Ziemupe's stories.

The road will take you to Ziemupe junipers, a church, a stone pile. During the hike, you will be able to get acquainted with different dune types, habitats, and plants.

On the way back, you have the opportunity to see the massif of mountain pines, which is ending its life - the departed forest.

Distance: 12km

Route type: Circular, can be divided into two routes. Before walking, it is advisable to determine the direction of the wind and walk so that it blows from your back.

Start: from Ziemupe TIP "Jūras māja" or Ziemupe seafront parking lot

Duration: 3 h, depends on walking speed

Accessibility: Not accessible for mothers with prams and people in wheelchairs.

Surface: gravel road, forest paths, well-trodden paths, sandy beach, small rivers to be crossed during the wet season, Ziemupe river can be crossed by a bridge.

Getting there: by car.

Without briefing, nothing -

1. Do not break branches, do not light a fire, do not put up tents, because we are in the Ziemupe Nature Reserve

2. The direction of the hike should be planned based on the direction of the wind so that when walking along the sea, the wind blows at your back. If the gust of wind is small, then it will not interfere.
