ZIEMUPE “JŪRAS MĀJA”
Ziemupe “Jūras māja” is a local storytelling space that reveals the experiences and memories of coastal life – stories about fishermen, ships, refugee routes to Gotland, and the surrounding seaside nature. The exhibition introduces plants, marine life, and objects that once belonged to the residents of Ziemupe, forming the village’s shared historical memory.
When visiting Ziemupe, be sure to enjoy the peaceful Baltic Sea beach and the impressive coastal cliffs rising 5–12 metres high. Ziemupe is also an excellent birdwatching destination – a total of 201 bird species have been recorded along the route. At the “ Jūras māja”, binoculars for adults and children are available for rent, as well as a bird guide for exploring nature.
