House of Traditions "Zvanītāji"
"Zvanītāji", Rucava, Dienvidkurzemes novads
Although the building has acquired a new external appearance, its family room has been preserved in its ancient appearance (the house was built at the end of the 19th century) with the typical lifestyle of that time, ethnographic objects, and it breathes the breath of antiquity. The visitors of the house are delighted by the rich heritage of Rucava, as well as the gloves and socks knitted by the women of Rucava today, which can also be purchased. The house is managed by the Rucava Traditions Club and the wives of Rucava. Annual holidays, especially Christmas and Great Day, are celebrated in "Callers". The Rucavas Wives' Life School classes are held regularly, and the "Callers" summer schools are held every summer, where all kinds of skills are learned.
The guests of Rucava are offered the traditional cultural program "Rucava's Feast of Honor", during which their participants have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the traditional cultural environment of Rucava, get to know the cultural heritage of Rucava, taste real country rye bread with honey or one of the favorite dishes of the Kurz farmers - turnips with white butter, rye or grated potato dumplings with a hearty cream sauce, and of course you sing it all together in Rucava songs. Master workshops on cooking traditional Rucava dishes are also possible.
