Lažas - Padure manor
The restoration of Laža - Padure manor (Laschen) took place in the 19th century. In the 70s, when a park with an artificially dug pond was established. The estate of the Barons von Osten – Saken is located in the middle of a park with several rare tree species. After the first agrarian reform of the free state in 1920, the land of the manor was distributed to farmers - Latvian freedom fighters. In 1929, it was allocated for the establishment of schools. Since 1969, a special boarding school serving children with intellectual disabilities has been operating in the building.
