Marketplace
The market square creates a special atmosphere with its unusual shape - a 15 m long copy of a Cursian boat is installed over its canopy. An elegantly paved square and log-style shops with shingle roofs attract the attention of every passer-by.
The impressive replica of a Curonian boat, which covers the market square in an overturned form, together with Grobiņa's medieval castle and bastions form a single ensemble with centuries-old cultural and historical evidence. They wind through the Ālande River walking path, along the nearby Dzirnava Pond, the promenade and the Ālande River.
Now Grobiņa town has a conveniently accessible sales point where local manufacturers and service providers can offer local products to every resident and visitor of Grobiņa county.
In addition to daily sales, the square hosts a festive market, creative artisan workshops, tastings and other targeted events.
